Summit Oaks is a community of 148 homes located in Burnsville, Minnesota. The first homes were built in 1987 and the subdivision was completed when construction was completed on the last homesite in 2004. We have a very active homeowners association and are very participative community of residents, with recurring annual events such as a neighborhood block party and a Winter Social Party.

Burnsville is a suburb within the 7-county Minneapolis-St Paul metropolitan area. Burnsville is the 10th largest city in the state with a population of over 60,220 people, and is located 16.4 miles straight south of the Minneapolis downtown area via Interstate Highway 35W, and 18.9 miles southwest from downtown St Paul via Interstate Highway 35E.
Burnsville is home to a regional mall (Burnsville Center) comprised of 1.2 million square feet, a Performing Arts Center, a 2-rink indoor ice area, more than 3,300 acres of parks and wildlife refuge lands, a variety of recreational opportunities including a major ski resort, over 2,200 businesses, and many fine lodging and dining facilities.
The Burnsville Performing Arts Center is located at 12600 Nicollet Ave in the Heart of the City. This new complex opened in January, 2009. The center has two theaters, a 1000 seat Proscenium Stage and an intimate 150 seat Black Box. In addition to the theaters, the Center has a 2000 sq. ft. art gallery, meeting rooms and a large rehearsal room. There is additional space for banquets, special events and receptions
We are fifteen minutes or less from the Minnesota Zoological Gardens, Valley Fair Amusement Park, Mystic Lake Casino, the Renaissance Festival, the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport and the Mall of America. Burnsville is conveniently close to Minneapolis and St. Paul, both accessible by interstate highways. There are twenty-nine golf courses within a 10-miles radius of Burnsville (19 public and 10 private).
